Diaspro
The strong link with our island is all the more evident by the name we have chosen for our B & B. Diaspro (in local dialect Diaspru). It is the locally found mineral that 4 millennia ago was extracted from the only deposit on the island and traded “by the people of the sea from Sardinia, and exported to other parts of the Mediterranean. The Diaspru is a hard, strong stone like obsidian and flint.
The Diaspro B & B is located on the first floor of a historic stone building of the early 900. The traditional floors and unique environment recalls the charm of the stories told by Commanders and the tales of expert sailors of maritime adventures.
The renovated apartment offers a residence dedicated to relaxation, reading, rest, and the quiet but lively life of Carloforte. A central location, one step from the seafront, the main square, and many restaurants. You will have the opportunity to taste our typical cuisine, taste the typical focaccia carlofortina or a piece of farinata (in tascellu de faino ‘), sip excellent wines produced on our island, as well as wines of the mother island of Sardinia, and cocktails in the various establishments of the area.
The location of Diaspro B & B means that once you step through the door you are immediately in a position to walk to the most characteristic parts of our country, the historic districts of Sutt’au Castellu, Suvia u Castellu and Cassinee.

The territory
The B & B Diaspro is located in the central Via Garibaldi, a few steps from Piazza Repubblica where there are the curious round benches (called Baruffi) that surround 4 large Ficus trees.
The Diaspro is located near the historic ancient neighbourhoods of Carloforte with their characteristic sights, awaiting to be discovered.
Situated close to the seafront and the ferries terminals, monuments and salt pans, where you can observe amongst other birds, the beautiful pink flamingo.
The island of San Pietro offers wonderful free beaches, beautiful cliffs and unique geological features.
In the North-West of the island, it is possible to observe the marvellous Falco Eleonorae (falcon of the Queen) which stops on our island from April to October and then returns to Madagascar.
